Power to Change supports, connects and promotes community businesses in England. Could you join us?

Every day, we work with energetic, exciting and brave community businesses. We support them to grow and thrive, to effect bigger change and sometimes, to tackle enormous challenges. No two days are ever the same.

We need outstanding individuals to join our team

We want people who can help us capitalise on the good work already being done and develop transformative new ideas and ways of working. You’ll have the opportunity to shape this growing sector building stronger communities and better places to live.

We offer excellent benefits

These include contributory pension scheme, a health cash plan which reimburses employees on a range of everyday healthcare expenses, allowance for wellbeing activities (pro rata), 25 days holiday (pro rata), additional day off on your birthday, and additional time off between Christmas and New Years.

In keeping with our ethos, you will also have the opportunity to visit community businesses around England and take part in our stimulating away days. Past examples include volunteering at Sutton Community Farm, a mindfulness session on the Bristol Ferry Boats and lessons in growing at Wolves Lane.

We are a mindful employer

We believe in being truly inclusive and treating everyone with respect. We seek to be a genuinely inclusive organisation by advancing equality and diversity through our policies and practices. We encourage and welcome applications from people from all backgrounds who are looking to make a real difference to the lives of their local communities.

We are also a Mindful Employer Charter signatory. The Charter is about recognising those employers who are committed to supporting mental health at work, and by signing it we are making a public declaration of our ambition to support the mental health and wellbeing of our staff by agreeing to uphold the following values:

  1. To provide non-judgemental and proactive support to staff experiencing mental ill-health.
  2. To not make assumptions about a person with a mental health condition and their ability to work.
  3. To be positive and enabling toward all employees and applicants with a mental health condition.
  4. To support line managers in managing mental health in the workplace.
  5. To ensure we are fair in the recruitment of new staff in accordance with the Equality Act (2010).
  6. To make it clear that people who have experienced mental ill-health will not be discriminated against, and that disclosure of a mental health conditions will enable both the employee and employer to assess and provide the right level of support or adjustment.
