Stuart is a sport management consultant with experience of events, development and research in federations and local authorities, across a variety of themes, including athlete development, event management, and asset management.
He spent the first four years of his career working at Vivacity, a charity providing ownership and management of previously local authority-owned assets in sports, arts, and cultural services. Inspired by the London 2012 Olympics, he then studied for an MSc in Sport Management at Birkbeck College, University of London. While studying, Stuart interned for a National Governing Body of sport and went on to work for federations, including British Fencing, British Athletics, England Athletics, and the Special Olympics GB.
Stuart’s PhD focuses on clubs and community businesses in sport. He investigates the human capacity and capital required for community groups to successfully undertake an asset transfer, and manage and/or own a facility that was previously owned by a local authority.
