{"id":14144,"date":"2020-07-13T10:15:58","date_gmt":"2020-07-13T09:15:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.powertochange.org.uk\/?post_type=news_post&#038;p=14144"},"modified":"2021-08-13T11:06:25","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T10:06:25","slug":"multi-million-pound-covid-19-recovery-scheme-launches-community-led-organisations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.powertochange.org.uk\/news\/multi-million-pound-covid-19-recovery-scheme-launches-community-led-organisations\/","title":{"rendered":"Multi-million pound Covid-19 recovery scheme launches for community-led organisations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <em>Covid-19 Community-Led Organisations Recovery Scheme<\/em> <em>(CCLORS) <\/em>will provide grants up to \u00a3100,000 to community-led organisations in England that are facing severe financial difficulties as a direct result of the coronavirus lockdown.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme is open to all types of community-led organisation affected by the crisis. Applications are particularly welcome from organisations led by or directly supporting Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities, which have been disproportionately affected by Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme is run by <strong>Power to Change<\/strong>, <strong>Locality<\/strong>, <strong>The Ubele Initiative<\/strong> and <strong>Social Investment Business<\/strong> on behalf of The National Lottery Community Fund.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <em>Covid-19 Community-Led Organisation Recovery Scheme<\/em> <em>(CCLORS)<\/em> will have three application rounds, with the first round opening for applications between <strong>10am and 1pm, Tuesday 28<sup>th<\/sup> July 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The second round will open on <strong>Tuesday 4<sup>th<\/sup> August<\/strong> and the third round on <strong>Tuesday 11<sup>th<\/sup> August<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Potential applicants can register to attend a free webinar on Thursday 23rd July to find out more about the criteria and application process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who can apply?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Organisations able to apply must be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>community-led, multi-purpose organisations with a charitable purpose<\/li>\n<li>located and operating in England only<\/li>\n<li>delivering services in their local community to support people who are at high risk from Covid-19, particularly BAME communities.<\/li>\n<li>accountable to local people<\/li>\n<li>facing a negative impact on their organisational finances because of Covid-19<\/li>\n<li>facing increased pressure\/demand from their beneficiaries<\/li>\n<li>not applying to other funding pots under the Coronavirus Community Support Fund<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The scheme is part of The National Lottery Community Fund\u2019s <em>Coronavirus Community Support Fund<\/em>. The Fund has been split into several funding streams aimed at different parts of the charity and social sector. <strong>All applicants should choose the most relevant funding stream for their organisation and should not apply to more than one fund.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Vidhya Alakeson, CEO of Power to Change, said<\/strong>: \u201cCommunity-led organisations have been at the forefront of delivering vital support for local people during the Covid-19 crisis. They stepped-up, ensuring the most vulnerable in our society were not forgotten. Now, many face impending financial crisis. This new recovery scheme is there to help them transition through this challenging period, to ensure they survive and continue their vital work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yvonne Field, Founder and CEO of The Ubele Initiative, said<\/strong>: \u201cThe Ubele Initiative is pleased to be a strategic partner in the design and delivery of the CCLORS programme. It offers much needed emergency funding and organisational support to community based organisations including those which are BAME led and\/or are working to support local BAME communities. We know that front line organisations have struggled to keep afloat in these unprecedented times and a timely injection of cash and professional assistance will help them begin to create more resilient organisations for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tony Armstrong, Chief Executive of Locality, said<\/strong>: \u201cAt Locality we believe in the power of community to create a fairer society.
