Laura Johnson is an experienced Evaluation and Research Consultant with over twelve years’ experience of applied evaluation and research in the charity and public sectors, across a variety of themes including health, local government, equalities, children and early years, and neighbourhood renewal. Laura spent the first six years of her career working at a social policy and research consultancy conducting a wide range of evaluation and research projects for clients in central government, local government, the health service and charity sector. From there, she went on to lead the development of Macmillan Cancer Support’s first ever Evaluation Team and Evaluation Strategy, leading the drive to ensure Macmillan was a more evidence-based organisation.

Laura’s experience ranges from small project evaluations right through to evaluations of large-scale complex change programmes, as well as developing theories of change. Laura has extensive experience of providing evaluation training to a range of audiences and of working at senior levels to ensure evaluation, evidence and outcomes are embedded throughout all levels of an organisation. Laura has strong expertise in ensuring evidence adds value and aids decision-making, and has worked with a range of stakeholders to ensure evidence informs policy and practice.
