The Community University Partnership Initiative is inviting community businesses to apply for a place at three upcoming events where they will have the opportunity to partner with university researchers and bid for research funding.

The first event took place in at the Knowle West Media Centre, a community hub in Bristol, and saw community business leaders and university researchers with multiple interests ranging from sustainable villages, inclusivity through language translation, community participation through to special educational needs and the arts. The pitches included:

  • A project building the capacity of community businesses so they can co-produce research with universities
  • A project interviewing former clients of a counselling charity and community centre to learn from their experiences of life-threatening illness and bereavement and to visualise and tell these stories.
  • A project evaluating the benefits for older people and young children interacting in care homes

Three more events are due to take place in Manchester on the 17th April (applications for this are now closed), Newham in London on Tuesday 26th June and Birmingham on Tuesday 3rd July.
